# A Simple Way to Understand the System

A simple way to understand Illuminance is to compare it to systems people already use every day.

For example, the internet.

Most people use the internet daily, but very few understand how it works on a technical level.\
They do not think about servers, data transfer, or infrastructure.

They simply use it.

Illuminance works in a similar way.

Behind the system, there is a complex infrastructure that analyzes data, processes information, and executes operations.\
But for the participant, the interaction remains simple and clear.

Another way to understand it is through electricity.

When someone turns on a light, they do not think about how energy is generated or distributed.\
They are simply connected to an existing infrastructure.

Illuminance follows the same principle.

The market creates opportunities.\
The system processes them.\
The participant connects and receives the result.

***

Illuminance is an infrastructure where complexity operates in the background, while the participant interacts with a simple and accessible system.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://illuminance.gitbook.io/docs/a-simple-explanation-of-the-illuminance-system/understanding-the-system-without-complex-terminology/a-simple-way-to-understand-the-system.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
